To reduce our Waste by 20% in 6 months

Encouraged fruit &veg in lunch boxes and reuse empty drink bottles

To reduce our Paper usage by 10% in 6 months

Use both sides of paper and use paper for art classes

Produce our own compost

Encouraged Fruit &Veg lunches and purchased 2 compost bins

Have a National Spring Clean

Our Spring Clean Up was done both indoors and outdoors and part of the wooded area behind our school

Put 3 appropriate disposal bins in every classroom

Invite W.E.E.E Ire. To our school

Aspeaker from W.E.E.E.gave a presentation in our school hall and an appropriate bin was filled with waste electrical goods

Have a Green Schools Notice Board to show our progress

The 7 steps to achieving our  1^st Green Flag are displayed on our Green Schools Notice board and any updated news on Recycling

Get advice on composting

Donal O’ Leary from An Taisce was invited to  give advice on composting

Paint and freshen up all around the school

Outside of school was painted and new facia and soffits were put up. The garden was cleaned up and cut back

Arrange flower boxes with our own compost

With the compost  the school  produced flower boxes were arranged

Plenty of Green Schools posters in the appropriate areas

3Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle posters were put around the school as reminders to recycle

Have Recycling Competitions and Demos and Quizzes

Recycling competitions and quizzes were held at our assembly also demos on recycling eg. Puppet shows

Have appropriate boxes supplied for old batteries and mobile phones

These are placed in the hall where they will be seen
