BLITZ 2011

 

 

 

 

On Friday 23^rd April a Fun Blitz for 2^nd and 3^rd Class boy and girls took place in Éire Óg GAA Club in Ovens. 

Five schools, Blarney BNS, Fearann NS, Cloughduv NS, Dripsey NS and Vicarstown NS, took part in the blitz

with a total of 9 teams, 108 children, participating.  Each team took part in three 20 min games with all children

 getting lots of game time.  This blitz was a Fun Blitz with no scores kept and unlimited substitutes.  The aim of

 the blitzes is that a school would bring a whole class or room as a team and that everyone would get to play,

not just the children that are currently playing with their local club.  It is hoped that through the blitzes that new

children will be introduced to Gaelic Games and that they will in turn join their local club. A great day was had by

 all the children.
